'An unchallenged doctrine becomes mere habit; the idea that the sudden triumph of capitalist liberalism in the strongholds of its former enemies should leave it as an unchallengeable victor is contrary to the whole history of ideas.' - Goodwin paraphrasing John Stuart Mill

The conservatism of the business world makes sense to me, now.

anticapitalist:

In business, the working class/the workers are literally labeled “current liabilities”. They not only dehumanize the workforce, they portray them as a negative. Providing employment and income to working class people is a BAD thing in the business world. When making transactions, companies spend thousands, if not millions, hiring lawyers, PR agents, marketing agents and accountants to determine how they can fire employees in a favorable manner.

When you dehumanize an entire segment of society, and label them as ‘Current liabilities” on your balance sheet, it’s easy to support policies which tear them apart and destroy them. You don’t even think you’re hurting anybody because you don’t view them as human. They’re just numbers that you want to cut down.
