The US has 2 MILLION people living behind bars. More than any other country on Earth. Do you think it has anything to do with the private “for-profit” corporations that are taking over our prison system?
Why yes, yes it does.Yeah, but that’s just part of the problem. Even if we take private business out of the equation, the government still profits from the whole thing. The “criminal justice system” is used as a tool of oppression, rather than rehabilitation. Somehow, the population thinks that when someone else does something that the masses don’t approve of, the best thing to do to that person is lock them in a box for a significant period of their life.
We invest billions of dollars into the criminal justice system so that it can continue to rape, oppress and haunt everyone who comes in contact with it. Once they’re released into the general public, then the real hell begins.
